About Balsall Common Comedy Club
The original and first of Harvey’s clubs, Balsall Common Comedy Club was set up in 2016 originally held at The Royal British Legion. How did it come about? In 2015 Harvey performed his first stand up comedy gig which went well and more gigs were booked in.
Before long, things had snowballed from doing local open mic nights to being booked on professional standard nights all over the country. Harvey was amazed by the quality of talent he was getting to meet and perform alongside and having grown up in Balsall Common he was desperate to bring the best of this talent back to his home village.
After many sell out shows at The Legion, the demand was such that a bigger venue was required and therefore in 2018 the club was moved to the 150-seater venue of St Peters Hall in the heart of Balsall Common where the clubs continue to sell out.
Is there a bar? Yes. There is a fully licensed bar (card and cash) on the night with a selection which includes largers, ciders, IPA’s, wine, g&t, prosecco and soft drinks. The bar is open before the show and during the intervals however it will close whilst the show is on.
Is there food? No, there isn’t food as such. Sometimes there are rolls and snacks being sold for anyone needing a small bite but it is recommended you eat beforehand.
What time does it finish? The shows usually finish around 10.30pm based on the usual start time of 8pm.
Is there an age restriction? Due to the fact that alcohol is being served we have to restrict the age limit to 18+.
